Why Mahalo Mel?

I thank my lucky stars the day I discovered Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage. Prior to discovering this I had long connected with the land and its Aloha ways. I still recall with glee the day I went for a dip in Maui. Floating face down with my snorkel and goggles on, I could hear the whales communicating with each other and stared with joy at the tropical fish who welcomed me with open fins and showed my around their lovely coral homes.

When we are down we hold our emotions in our muscles. Our bodies are in dis-ease. Lomi Lomi has an extremely harmonising effect at times like this. It is about providing unconditional love in a mindful way so that the body can return to a state of harmony where healing can begin.

My aim is to assist the client in bringing their body back to harmony by releasing any emotional blockages held in their muscles. I really do pride myself on my Hawaiian teachings - that every 'body' is sacred, every 'body' requires love and understanding and choose to live in the Aloha spirit.

All knowledge is not taught in the same school

I have been practicing Hawaiian Lomi Lomi since 2004. Lomi Lomi is more than just a massage, it is an extremely healing & harmonising experience - it involves an understanding of the ancient Hawaiian Adventurer Sharman techniques (explained under 'Further Information') as well as an understanding of the Hawaiian 7 Huna Principles & Aloha ways. I have obtained my training & knowledge by Kumu, trainer & practitioner Tracey Namakanaokalani Ha'aolakainapali, Aunty Mahealani Kuamo'o-Henry teachings and by the readings of Serge Kahili King.
